Capital Chennai is known for beaches and landmarks including 1644 colonial Fort St. George.
Day 1 : Madurai
Arrives Madurai met & greet by our representative. Transfer to the Hotel. After Leisure Breakfast, Explore Madurai. Madurai is situated on the banks of the river Vaigai. Madurai history goes back to the 6th century B.C, when it traded with Greece and Rome. According to legend, drops of nectar fell from Lord Shivas locks on this site so it was named `Madhuram, Madurai or nectar city. Famous as a temple town, Madurai is also a major industrial city.
Day 2 : Madurai Rameswaram - Thanjavur
After early breakfast, Drive to Rameswaram (175kms/3.5hrs). Enroute visit Uttrakosamangai & Thiruppulani Temples. Rameswaram, is located on Pamban Island separated from mainland India by the Pamban channel and is about 50 kilometers from Mannar Island, Sri Lanka. It is situated in the Gulf of Mannar, at the very tip of the Indian peninsula. Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, is connected to mainland India by the Pamban Bridge. Together with Varanasi, it is considered to be one of the holiest places in India to Hindus, and part of the Char Dham pilgrimage.
According to Hindu mythology, this is the place from where the Hindu god Rama built a bridge, across the sea to Lanka to rescue his wife Sita from her abductor Ravana. The Ramanathaswamy Temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva is located at the centre of the town and is closely associated with Rama.
Day 3 : Thanjavur-Trichy
After Leisure breakfast, Visit Brihadeeswarar Temple ( PeruvudaiyaarKovil) is partof a UNESCO heritage site known as the Great Living Chola Temples& the Rajah Serfojis Saraswathi Mahal Library.
Day 4 : Trichy - Pondicherry
Post Breakfast, drive to Pondicherry (215 kms /3.5hrs). On Arrival Check-in to the hotel. Later visit Manakula Vinayagar Temple. Post Lunch visit Auroville a Global village dedicated to human unity and based upon the vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. In the evening spend your timing in the Beach front or little bit Shopping famous for Hidesign Leather Goods & Handmade Papers.
Overnight at Pondicherry.
Day 5 : Pondicherry Mahabalipuram
Early in the Morning visit Aurobindo Ashram. Post-visit return to the hotel. After the breakfast, drive to Mahabalipuram (120kms/2hrs). On Arrival check in to the hotel. Post Lunch explore the tinny Mahabalipuram. Visit Arjuna Penance, Five Rathas & Sea Shore Temple.
Day 6 : Mahabalipuram - Chennai
After Leisure breakfast, drive to Chennai the Gateway of South India & the capital city of State Tamilnadu.
Day 7 : Chennai - Airport/ Central Railway Station / Airport
After Leisure Breakfast, Departure from the hotel & transfer to Chennai Domestic Airport or Railway Station to take Flight/Train back home with wonderful memories.
